Responding to the devastation of unprecedented flooding in Chennai, India in 2015, the city and 100 Resilient Cities are co-hosting an international summit, January 31 to February 2, 2016, to exchange experiences and provide insights into best practices on urban flood management.
Mr. Balakrishnan Elangovan, GIZ-CDIA Senior Program Manager for India, is among the key resource persons to prepare demonstrable, evidence-based resilience value realization proposals which respond to challenges in addressing the issue.
In 2009, a CDIA Pre-Feasibility Study on waterways development was completed in Chennai which concluded with recommendations to prioritize specific infrastructure investment gaps. 100RC is among CDIA’s dynamic Regional Partner Organizations.
